Students of Music Librarianship Group
About
The Students of Music Librarianship Group is a group for Indiana University students interested in music librarianship, library science and/or musicology, music theory, music education, or performance. It serves as a networking tool for these students within the university and to other music librarianship programs across the country, as well as a unified promoter of music librarianship to other universities. This group intends to promote interest in music librarianship through outreach to the university community and beyond through activities and support of its members to attend local and national conferences.
Our members, who have a wide range of interests in public and technical services librarianship, work together each semester to develop new proficiencies and expertise through a series of professional development events and activities. We also encourage our members to get involved with the Music Library Association (MLA) at the chapter and national levels as a way to further develop their skills and professional networks. Our mission is to provide our membership with opportunities to grow as emerging professionals and to connect with others who have a shared interest in music and performing arts librarianship.
