M&A Advisors at IU

M&A Advisors at Indiana provides students with exposure to the various advisory roles in the mergers and acquisitions process. The two practices: Finance and Strategy encompass every facet of M&A. In joining this organization, students will be responsible for a traditional workstream similar to an associate/analyst in that field for a live deal. Finance members will be responsible for valuation models, bidding strategy, and evaluating capital structure for future financing. Strategy members will be responsible for evaluating the strategic fit of the target, acquisition due diligence, and post merger integration. Throughout the semester the club will work on a live deal to pitch to either small student startups (micro-acquisitions) or regional mid-large size companies. In addition to their work over the semester, students will have the opportunity to work with guest speakers who are senior executives and experts in the investment banking, strategy consulting, and business development field. Unlike the traditional guest speaker, our speaker's will provide feedback on deliverables such as models and slide decks to allow students to understand how an expert would tackle the problem.
