21st Century Scholars Leadership Corps
About
The 21st Century Scholars Leadership Corps is a student-run organization that strives to develop students into responsible, capable leaders and professionals during their time as undergraduates.
Leadership Corps is open to all students on the IU Bloomington Campus! We accept members throughout the year, and encourage everyone who may be interested to join! Stay connected with us through our GroupMe!
The Leadership Corps is composed of three different wings: the Volunteer Division, Ambassador Division, and Public Relations Division:
Volunteer Division:
The Volunteer Division of Leadership Corps is the service arm of the organization. We connect members to team and individual service opportunities throughout IU and the greater Bloomington area in order to build leadership through the contribution of time and effort to a cause. We aim to find events that all of our scholars can connect with and are always welcoming new ideas! In the past, we have helped organizations such as the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of Bloomington, Hoosiers Outrun Cancer, IU Office of Sustainability, Bloomington YMCA, Bloomington Parks and Rec, and many more.
Ambassador Division:
The Ambassador Division of Leadership Corps provides assistance to the 21st Century Scholars Program and Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs. Our goal is to support these offices' efforts in increasing awareness and knowledge of the 21st Century Scholars Program, requirements, and opportunities and to enhance current IU scholars’ professional and leadership development. We aim to help students adjust to IU through mentorship and workshop involvement that encourages growth and attainment of leadership opportunities at their own pace. Members active in the Ambassador Division are the ideal embodiment of what it means to be a 21st Century Scholar and have the opportunity to be invited to represent the organization in opportunities such as speaking panels.
Public Relations Division:
The Public Relations Division of Leadership Corps allows scholars to get to know one another and have opportunities to be involved in fun and memorable activities in and around campus. We aim to build a sense of community among scholars so that they feel as though Leadership Corps is like a second family. Our goal is to build relationships with scholars and allow them to find friends and build lasting relationships. Public Relations Division is meant to make the scholars excited about being in Leadership Corps and improve retention and involvement in the IU community.
