Event Time and Date
African Night is an annual event hosted by African Students' Association at Indiana University-Bloomington. African Night is a cultural showcase that is held on IU’s Bloomington campus. Over the years, African Night as grown and last year the event had an attendance of over 300 people. Students, faculty, parents, children and more were all in attendance. The event consists of performers from across the continent celebrating their culture through dance, drumming, spoken word, music, fashion, and a variety of other arts. We have a variety of performances from our own IU members to performers from across the nation and outside the United States.
The goal of African Night is to showcase the different cultures within Africa to the Bloomington community. We aim to break the vicious cycle of negative rhetoric of Africa.
